Corporate Dressing Tips.

Just like men, it's very much important for women to look professional in the office. Therefore, it is important for a woman to choose the right suits that enhance their personality and looks. Your professionalism can be affected if you choose too simple or too complex types of clothes.

If suits are your preferential choice, you can use different types of accessories to give a different outlook everyday. Hence you can experiment with various types of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. You can also use different matching handbags with your different color suits.

In general professional dresses are basically dark colored like black, brown, dark blue, grey, etc. Bear in mind that matching the variety of shoes, headbands and jackets with different colors can portray a different outlook every time.

Here are some tips on your wardrobe 'portfolio' selections;
  • Business clothing is all about making the right investments. You have to ensure that the choice of clothes you make reflects on flattering your body shape, having a quality outlook, and most importantly make you feel comfortable. After all, looking good and feeling good will lead to high levels of confidence. Business investments are not about what you want and creating a trend. You stick to the general, and source for the best prices with the best quality. No one likes to put on an oversize jacket or skirt, irregardless of the brand or quality. Thus, you must be able to have a professional tailor for immediate alterations.
  • Shoes to me, are considered as a woman's foundation of excellence and success. The right pair which exudes elegance and style and of course comfort goes a long way in making an individual stand out in the corporate world. Always keep your army of shoe selections on a standby, and I mean in good condition and not worn out in any way.
  • A belt loop is an indication of where a belt has to be. Make full use of it girls! This is an area of opportunity to slot in another one of your accessories. In the corporate world, flashy and plastic materials just doesn't cut it. You need a quality leather belt. For those who don't like belts, get pants or skirts without the belt loops. How you evaluate a corporate dressed man without a belt is similar to how we view ourselves. Right?

Impressions you DON'T want to have in the workplace:

  • You're not dressed to club, party or to get a man. Sexy, see-through lace, miniskirts, spaghetti straps, strappy stiletto sandals, etc are a no-no.
  • Going to work is not like going shopping or to the gym or being out with friends. Jeans, shorts, T-shirts, hats, sneakers are the standard of what not to wear.
  • Everyone love a well groomed individual and that's not emphasizing on the facial and smell and looks alone. Never, EVER wear sloppily, come to work with wrinkled clothing, or have too many layers, or look oversized. You wear what you have to (AGAIN) flatter your body shape but not to the extent where you drop their jaws.
